In recent times, the cultural sector has been the target of disruptive demonstrations – in some cases even violent, on a psychological and physical level. The intention is to restrict the citizens’ freedom of creation and cultural enjoyment and to censor exhibitions, books, shows, and public events. It is necessary to guarantee the freedom, well-being, and physical and psychological safety of all people, cultural professionals and the public.

  • What is happening?
  • What to do (before, during, and after)?
  • What are our rights and duties?
  • What resources are available to us?

This guide aims to support cultural professionals and cultural organisations in managing disruptive or even violent incidents, at an individual or institutional level.
