Due to communication challenges, more and more cultural professionals wish to know better the principles and ways of implementing inclusive and neutral language. They both aim to avoid the use of a language that excludes and promotes or reinforces stereotypes.
This training course is intended to help better understand the power and impact of the language we use, particularly for “minority” identities and non-dominant ethnic and cultural groups. We shall reflect on implicit prejudices, stereotypes, multiple discrimination, intersectionality and microaggressions as forms of exclusion. We will be get to know some good practices and also to practice neutral and inclusive language.
The language we use matters and this is also a way to build more inclusive and safe spaces for all people.
